Our tour concludes with a re-affirmation of our will to continue building resistance, returning to Honduras in the midst of the Second National Gathering of Indigenous and Black Women of Honduras:

Second National Gathering of Indigenous and Black Women of Honduras
Under the cooling rains of this Tuesday May 23rd in Tegucigalpa, more than 400 women of different indigenous peoples arrived at the headquarters of the STIBYS bottle-workers' union to join together, debate and continue building their peoples' visions of emancipation as women fighters surviving neoliberal, racist and patriarchal oppression.
From diverse and distant communities, carrying their bags, their lunches, expectations and smiles, the women from the Pech, Tolupan, Garífuna, Lenca, Misquita, and Mayachorti peoples have decided to make their word into a community of voices to share their thoughts and strategies in defense of the common good, their territories and culture.
The convening comes from the Coordinadora Naciconal de Mujeres Indígenas y Negras de Honduras(CONAMINH, the National Coordinator of Indigenous and Black Women of Honduras), which was born in the year 2003 and has carried out several regional gatherings and local actions as part of its formation process.
With convening the CONAMINH denounces the persecution and criminalization of indigenous and black women in the struggle who are confronting throughout the country the racist and patriarchal system that manifests in the extractive projects in cahoots with the judicial, political and economic system of the Honduran state.
CONAMINH pays homage once again to the memory of the struggle of Berta Cáceres and her visions of emancipation, as she was also a founder of this network, and we express our indignation at the lack of justice for her assassination and the clear role played by the judicial and political actors assuring that justice never comes.
This Second Gathering of Indigenous and Black Women of Honduras will last two days and will culminate with a mobilization of Indigenous and black women to make their demands felt in the Honduran capital on May 25th.

Segundo Encuentro de Mujeres Indígenas y Negras de Honduras
Bajo la lluvia de este martes 23 de mayo, que refresca a Tegucigalpa más de cuatrocientas mujeres de diferentes pueblos indígenas llegan a la sede del Stibys para encontrarse, debatir y seguir construyendo propuestas emancipatorias de sus pueblos en su condición de mujeres luchadoras que sobreviven a la opresión neoliberal, racista y patriarcal. .
Desde diversos y lejanas comunidades, cargando sus maletas, sus burritas, expectativas y sonrisas las mujeres de los pueblos Pech, Tolupan, Garífuna, Lenca, Misquita, Mayachorti han decidido hacer de su palabra una comunidad de voces para compartir sus pensamientos y estrategias de defensa de bienes comunes, territorios y cultura.
La convocatoria está a cargo de la Coordinadora Naciconal de Mujeres Indígenas y Negras de Honduras(CONAMINH), que nació el año 2003 y que ha realizado varios encuentros regionales y acciones locales como parte de su proceso de construcción.
En esta convocatoria la CONAMINH se manifiesta contra la judicialización y criminalización de las mujeres indígenas y negras luchadoras que en todos los territorios nacionales se enfrentan al sistema racista y patriarcal que se manifiesta en los proyectos extractivistas en contubernio con el sistema jurídico, politico y económico del estado hondureño.
La CONAMINH hace homenaje una vez más a la memoria de lucha de Berta Cáceres y sus propuestas emancipadoras, quien también es fundadora de esta articulació, y expresa su indignación por la ausencia de justicia en su asesinato y la evidente participación de los actores judiciales y políticos para que dicha justicia nunca llegue.
Este Segundo Encuentro de Mujeres Indígenas y Negras de Honduras durará dos días y culminará con una movilización de mujeres indígenas y negras que harán sentir sus demandan en la capital hondureña el 25 de mayo.
